The Presidents' Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks staved off elimination Saturday night in Chicago with a 4-1 Game 5 victory, but return  to The Joe with a 3-2 series deficit against a hungry Red Wings team that will look to end it tonight. This postseason, the Wings are 4-0 after a loss and 4-1 at home, so while it may be a small sample size, it's still encouraging to the Detroit faithful.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 8:00 PM on NBC Sports Network, or CBC/RDS for our Canadian viewers, or tune in on 97.1 The Ticket/AM1270.

Babcock
Coach Babcock will roll with same lines and pairings as in Game 4.

The Blackhawks will keep shuffling their lines tonight in effort to spark some offense, something Dan Cleary sees as a good sign.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville will try to keep the Toews line away from Zetterberg's line, with Cleary and Filppula.

Weather the Storm - The Blackhawks are a desperate team, they will be looking to get a fast start in today’s game. The Red Wings will have to match their intensity.

Good Goalkeeping - Jimmy Howard has been sensational, stopping 86 of 88 shots in the last three games. He needs to continue to be on his game tonight.

Limit Turnovers in the Defensive Zone - It’s important for the defensemen to get the puck up to the forwards and send them on their way. Can’t allow Chicago to get the puck down low and cycle.
