Few things in sport are better than playoff hockey. The drama that comes with 25 men skating faster, checking harder, laying it all on the line in a 60 minute fight for survival. Tonight, we'll get a heavy dose of that on steroids as the Wings and the Ducks face off in a must-win Game 7. One team will stave off elimination and move on to the next round, the other will return to the room, clear out their lockers, and get an unwanted early start on summer. The fate of both teams all comes down to tonight; Game 7 in Anaheim.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 10:00 PM game on Fox Sports Detroit or NBC Sports, or TSN/RDS for our Canadian viewers, or tune in on 97.1 The Ticket.

Babcock
Mike Babcock said Patrick Eaves will be scratched tonight.

"(Eaves) played good, does what he’s supposed to, runs over people and a real competitive guy. But because I know more insider information that I’m not sharing with you, I have to have other guys to cover up for other people just in case they can’t survive."
- Mike Babcock

Colaiacovo
Carlo Colaiacovo will make his first playoff appearance as a Red Wing tonight.

"I think excited is a small word. It’s real gratifying. This is the biggest reason why I wanted to come here, to play at this time of the season for this team."
- Carlo Colaiacovo

Lashoff
Brian Lashoff will be a healthy scratch.

Toni Lydman will be out again for the Ducks with an upper-body injury.

Put the Pedal to the Metal
- The Joe will be rocking and it will be noisy. Take charge early. Go after the Ducks hard from puck drop.

Shoot the Puck - Make Jonas Hiller work. Get shots to the net. Second and third chances are key; the Wings also need to have a solid net front presence.

Put it All on the Line - This is a must win situation. Detroit needs a full 60 minute effort. Every shift counts.
