Comerica Bank Game Day Preview - Anaheim
Detroit Red Wings vs. Anaheim Ducks

POSTED ON Sunday, 05.12.2013 / 6:30 PM

It's been an incredible series, it's been a lot of fun to be a part of.
It's been an emotional roller coaster, exactly what the playoffs are
all about.

- Jimmy Howard told Ansar Khan

“You don’t have many chances to play a Game 7 throughout the course of your career. We just have to embrace it, have fun, enjoy it. It’s a special atmosphere. We’re looking forward to it and play like we have been, play our system and we’ll have a good chance.”
-Henrik Zetterberg told Ansar Khan

“It just seems when our backs are against the wall that's when we play our best. The urgency was there from the drop of the puck (Friday). There can't be any let up.”
- Jimmy Howard told Ansar Khan

I’ve been fortunate to win some in Game 7 and lose some in Game 7. I’ve lost at home and won on the road. It's just a big game.
We’re excited.

- Mike Babcock told Khan

Patrick Eaves will return to the lineup tonight after being a healthy scratch in Game 6.

Cory Emmerton will be a healthy scratch tonight.

Mikael Samuelsson will center fourth line alongside Patrick Eaves and Todd Bertuzzi.

Weather the Storm
- The Ducks will be coming hard early. First 10 minutes will be key. Detroit needs to fight fire with fire and come out even harder.

Need Solid Goaltending - Jimmy Howard needs to be sharp and the Red Wings will need to play good "D" in front of him.

Score 3+ Goals - Detroit hasn't lost all season when they achieve this. Their best players need to perform at their best. Also bear down and score when the chances are there.

Few things in sport are better than playoff hockey. The drama that comes with 25 men skating faster, checking harder, laying it all on the line in a 60 minute fight for survival. Tonight, we'll get a heavy dose of that on steroids as the Wings and the Ducks face off in a must-win Game 7. One team will stave off elimination and move on to the next round, the other will return to the room, clear out their lockers, and get an unwanted early start on summer. The fate of both teams all comes down to tonight; Game 7 in Anaheim.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 10:00 PM game on Fox Sports Detroit or NBC Sports, or TSN/RDS for our Canadian viewers, or tune in on 97.1 The Ticket.
