Play a Complete Game - All players must be on the same page for the entire 60-65 minutes. Play solid in all zones. Compete every shift.

Outstanding Goalkeeping - Jimmy Howard gets the call tonight. He needs to be a brick wall. Make the big saves. Can't allow any soft goals.

Protect The Puck - Limit turnovers and giveaways. Force the Wild to make mistakes and cough up the puck.

With just five games remaining in the regular season, Detroit will look to earn a big two points in Minnesota and inch closer towards the postseason.

They might have a big piece back tonight, as Mike Babcock said forward Pavel Datsyuk could return to the lineup, who has missed seven of the past nine games with a lower-body injury. Datsyuk practiced Friday, but Babcock said they will wait to see how the injury reacts before putting him in the lineup. Detroit could use Datsyuk's production (60 points in 59 games); the Red Wings have won three of their past 10 games and are tied with the Boston Bruins for third place in the Atlantic Division, three points ahead of the Ottawa Senators.

"If you can get feeling good about yourself playing well, then you can get on a run and have a special year," forward Justin Abdelkader said. "We're right there with every team in the Eastern Conference. I don't think there's much that separates each team. It's just the teams that are healthy and playing well at the right time."

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings' Gameday Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 7:00 PM matchup on Fox Sports Detroit-Plus, or listen in with Ken Kal and Paul Woods on 97.1 The Ticket or AM 1270.
