Johan Franzen said he is “confident” he will play.

If Franzen is out, Todd Bertuzzi will make his return.

If Mule does play, the lineup will be the same as last night.

Mason

Chris Mason will start in net tonight for the Predators.

Jimmy Howard will be between the pipes for Detroit.

Howard

Tootoo

Jordin Tootoo was later credited with the game-winner last night after deflecting in a Patrick Eaves shot.

“I thought he had one of his best games as a Red Wing last night. He was efficient, he was in the right spots and took care of the puck.”
- Mike Babcock on Jordin Tootoo

Fight The Fatigue
- This will be the third game in four nights for Detroit. The last two games were like playoff contests. Be mentally tough.

Keep Playing Solid Defense - Detroit has allowed just two goals in their last three games. Jimmy Howard has been solid as a rock, as well. Limit the shots on goal and that will put the team in a position to win.

Be Hard on the Forecheck - Put pressure on the Nashville defense. Force them to cough up the puck and create scoring chances.

With two games to go, the Red Wings are on the verge of clinching their 22nd consecutive postseason berth. They could do that as early as tonight with a win at The Joe and if Dallas beats Columbus. Nevertheless, Detroit ultimately controls their own destiny, and a win tonight would put them just one step closer to continuing their playoff streak.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 7:30 PM game on Fox Sports Detroit or tune in on AM1270.
