Daniel Alfredsson will miss tonight's game with a tender groin.

Jonas Gustavsson is starting in net. The plan is to play
him for two periods.

Petr Mrazek will be in goal for the third period.

Patrick Eaves is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with an MCL sprain; he's likely out for the rest of the preseason.


The Mule will be back on the ice tonight after missing Thursday's game with a hip flexor.

Stephen Weiss will center the second line, alongside
Mule and Dan Cleary.

Tuukka Rask did not travel with the team. He won't play tonight.


Zdeno Chara is not playing tonight.

Compete Hard - With a surplus of forwards, the Wings need to bring it every shift, especially the youngsters who want to earn a spot on the team.

Rely on Skill - Boston is big and strong and will try to play physical. Skill usually counteracts that type of play.

Play as a Team - Trust your teammates, play together, and build that chemistry for the season.

 The Wings are 14-9 in Game 7s throughout history.

Coach Babcock will use the same lines and pairings as in Game 6.


The Wings experimented with playing Pavel Datsyuk on the Power Play this morning.
