Jimmy Howard is starting tonight and he's looking to bounce back |
“It's not the first time I've made a mistake out there, it most definitely won't be the last. This game is full of making mistakes, it's how you bounce back.” |
“After the other night in Calgary someone told me that Howard said, 'That's on me'...that's not on him, but that's what leadership is.” - Mike Babcock told Ansar Khan |
Jordin Tootoo will return to the lineup after being a healthy scratch Wednesday. |
Patrick Eaves will be a healthy scratch. |
Tonight's healthy scratches on D will be Ian White, Carlo Colaiacovo and Brian Lashoff. |
Mikael Samuelsson skated after practice, which means he's out tonight. |
Todd Bertuzzi skated with Zetterberg's line; he's hoping to return Monday, but doesn't know when he will be back. |

Get Off to a Fast Start - The Red Wings finished well against Calgary applying all kinds of pressure and had a chance to tie it with seconds left. They'll need to dictate the play early against the Canucks.
Generate Offense - Spend time in the offensive zone. Cycle well, get second and third opportunities, and have that much needed net front presence.
Play With Desperation - Time is running out; there's only 5 games left. Detroit needs to win games, plain and simple. A lot is on the line and they have to come out and play like there is no tomorrow. Compete hard and play to win.
