Henrik Zetterberg has been hot all season, leading the team with 36 points so far, including two goals in last Saturday's 5-1 win in Dallas.

Z has also been hot throughout his career against the Sharks, scoring 36 in just 38 career games against San Jose.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Start Strong - The Sharks have lost only one home game in regulation all year. Detroit can't fall behind early and play "catch up" hockey.

Take Away Sharks' Neutral Zone Speed - This is where the Sharks get going. The Wings need to close the gaps in the neutral zone to take away their time and space.

Be on the Attack - Dictate the play, keep the puck in the offensive zone and make the best of scoring chances tonight.

Has Detroit finally found its offense? After a December in which they scored two or fewer goals seven times in 14 games, the Red Wings scored five times in the win at Dallas.

The Red Wings will need all the offense they can muster as they enter what may be the toughest road stretch of the season, with games against San Jose, the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks, who have a combined six home regulation losses among them. The Red Wings have the best road record in the Eastern Conference (13-4-3).

"It's a big challenge, but at the same time a good opportunity for us to get things going," defensemen Niklas Kronwall said Wednesday. "We didn't play great in Dallas but took advantage of our opportunities. Goaltending was great for us. We have to build on that."

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 10:30 PM matchup on Fox Sports Detroit, or listen in with Ken Kal and Paul Woods on 97.1 The Ticket or AM1270.
