Play Well In Front of Howard
- Last time the Wings met the Kings, Howard had to stand on his head to win. LA had 23 shots on him in the 2nd period alone, so they must play better as a team in front of him.

Match LA's Physical Play - When the Kings are at their best, their forwards are in hard on the forecheck and they are banging bodies. It is important to match that intensity.

Take Advantage of Special Teams - Detroit's PP and PK are improving dramatically; they need to pick up where they left off against Vancouver.

Playing in career game No. 1,000, forward Kirk Maltby was a plus-1 in more than 10-minutes of ice time in the WIngs' 2-1 win, ironically over the Los Angeles Kings at Joe Louis Arena.

When these two teams met just a couple of weeks ago, it ended in thrilling fashion, when Jonathan Ericsson's slapper from the top right circle squeaked between the wickets of Jonathan Quick to put Detroit up for good with under five seconds to go. The depleted Wings battled hard to win that game, and tonight will look for the Motor City grit to better that L.A. glitz once again.

Comerica Bank Game Day Preview - Vancouver
Detroit Red Wings vs. Vancouver Canucks

POSTED ON Sunday, 02.24.2013 / 11:30 AM

Pick Up Where You Left Off
- Build off of last night. The Wings played hard for 60 minutes, outworked the Preds, and fed off a rowdy crowd. They need to do more of the same tonight.

Monster Must Be a Monster - The Canucks have a potent offense, so Jonas Gustavsson needs to have a solid perfomance: be square to the puck, control rebounds, and communicate well with defensemen.

Weather the Early Storm - The Canucks are well rested and they'll be flying early, trying to take advantage of a Detroit team that played hard last night. The Wings have to eliminate early mistakes and get into the flow as early as possible.
