Get the Early Lead
- Score first and take the crowd out of the game. The Red Wings have scored first just once this series and that was in Game 2. Also, they need to shoot the puck often and get to the front of the net. They need those 2nd and 3rd chances.

Limit Turnovers - The Wings have to make good decisions with the puck, especially in their own zone. Turnovers cause scoring chances which result in goals.

Need Solid Goalkeeping - Jimmy Howard has to be sharp and at his best. Stealing a game on the road with solid goalkeeping is a big plus.

After a big Game 4 win on Monday featuring some overtime heroics, the Detroit Red Wings head back to Anaheim looking to take a pivotal Game 5 and bring the series home within one win of moving on.

The Wings and Ducks have alternated victories in this series without either team able to build enough momentum to win back-to-back games. Anaheim won Games 1 and 3. Detroit won Games 2 and 4.

"I concur with that but I'm a believer that's how the playoffs are," Babcock said. "You just keep playing and you take them one at a time, the highs and lows of it. There's huge highs and huge lows, that's just the playoffs each and every year. One minute you think, 'Oh, my God we're never winning!' and the next minute you think you're going to win the series."

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.
