"They know what kind of player I am. I'm not going to change a thing. I'm playing for my livelihood and for the guys in the dressing room. They know that I bring it every night.”
- Jordin Tootoo

"(Tootoo) has been excellent for us…he knows how to play…he’s a competitive guy. He seems to be enjoying himself and we’re enjoying having him.”
- Mike Babcock

"I go out there and play as hard as I can night in and night out, and I think that's what the fans like to see. It's part of my DNA.”
- Jordin Tootoo

“Everybody's got to battle for a spot. Sometimes the chance comes early, sometimes you’ve got to wait a little bit and work hard to get the chance. I think it was worth it for me. I didn't get it last year but this year I'm getting lots of chances, try to prove I belong here.”
– Tomas Tatar

"(Tatar) just generates offense. He’s on the puck…. he makes those little plays and he’s quicker than I thought he was. He’s been good.”
- Mike Babcock

Johan Franzen said he’s been skating pretty good the past two days, and he hopes to play on Thursday.

Brendan Smith also had a positive update for Wings fans.

"I feel great. I’m not ready yet, (but) it gets better every day. It's hard to speculate (on my return) because I haven't done much contact. That's the biggest issue with anything.”
- Brendan Smith

Jakub Kindl will be in the lineup tonight.

Kent Huskins is expected to be a healthy scratch.

Weather the Early Storm
- The first ten minutes in this building are key. The Predators will come after the Wings hard early, especially after losing to Colorado last night.

Play for 60 Minutes - It's easier said than done, but a few lapses have cost Detroit in the last few games. They need to play a complete game tonight.

Generate Shots and Scoring Chances - Pekka Rinne doesn't give opponents much, so the more quality shots you can get, the better your odds of of putting the puck past him.

Babcock

"When we put on our sweaters we have to find a way to win. It doesn't matter who's in, who's out, who's at home. It's the NHL. Let's play."
-
Mike Babcock

After a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in Minnesota, Mike Babcock was making no excuses for the injuries the Wings have been dealing with all season long. The Wings will look to bounce back tonight with a victory against Central Division rival Nashville Predators.

The Red Wings came out of the gate strong tonight, with six scoring chances in the first period which lead to a Damien Brunner goal. Then, just 20 seconds into the second, they took a 2-0 lead when Pavel Datsyuk ripped one past Kuemper. Then the Wild went off, banging home a loose puck, scoring on a two-on-one, then finally scoring a goal off a faceoff put them up 3-2, a lead they never relinquished.

Thanks for tuning in to our Game Day Blog...
We'll see you on Tuesday when we head to Nashville to take on the Predators!
