The Detroit Red Wings dropped the second game of a back-to-back in Columbus tonight, 4-2. To add insult to injury, Brendan Smith left the game in the first period with an upper-body injury. The Red Wings have a couple days to re-group and get healthy before they get back at it on Tuesday against Calgary.

Thanks for tuning in to our Game Day Blog...we'll see you February 5th when we take on the Flames at The Joe!

Here are some of our fans who correctly called before yesterday's game that Henrik Zetterberg would score first for the Wings!

Think you know who's gonna score first tonight? Tweet it with #DRWGoal to @DetroitRedWings and if you call it correctly, you could win a signed Niklas Kronwall Fathead!

Take Care of the Puck
- In back-to-back games, teams usually don’t have the energy to backcheck when you turn the puck over, so the Wings have to take care of the puck.

Be Opportunistic - Take advantage of Columbus’ mistakes whenever possible and play a tight, typical road game.

Treat it as a Business Trip - Understand what you need to do to win and how you need to play to be successful.

Jonas Gustavsson did not travel with the team to Columbus.

Kent Huskins went through a series of tests that came back negative, but he feels ready to play tonight.

"I'm all right. Good to play, that's all that matters..It was more just a jolt, kind of knocked the wind out of me... I was a little dazed for a bit, no big issues."
- Kent Huskins

"We'll have seven D ready, I'll make a decision on what the six are at warmup."
- Mike Babcock

After Henrik Zetterberg's incredible performance last night, The Great One had some very high praise for the new Captain...

.

Gretsky
"I think Zetterberg is the best player in the game (at his age)...I think he’s the best Swedish player they’ve ever put into the National Hockey League"
- Wayne Gretzky

“We get to watch Henrik every day. I know that Lidstrom is special and Datsyuk is special, but when you see these players every day I think sometimes people don’t always appreciate how special they are."
- Ken Holland

Zetterberg

"I didn’t believe (Gretzky's comments) at first...I had to go to Goggle to make sure no one was pulling a prank on me. But it is nice. He’s one of my first big idols...it’s a great honor."
- Henrik Zetterberg
