Comerica Bank Game Day Preview - Chicago
  Chicago Blackhawks vs.
Detroit Red Wings

POSTED ON Monday, 05.27.2013 / 3:15 PM

Niklas Kronwall took a tough hit last game and skated off gingerly, but he skated today and is good to go tonight.

“You take some bumps and bruises along the way...
this is just part of it.”
- Niklas Kronwall

There will be physical hits in the playoffs. Kronner’s one guy that will play through that. I have no worries about him. He’s a fighter...I’m sure there will be good hits again tomorrow.
- Henrik Zetterberg

Coach Babcock will go with the same lines and pairings
as in Game 5.

Take Away Their Time and Space - Chicago had too much time to make plays in Game 5. Don't give them any room tonight.

Dictate the Play Immediately - Don't weather the storm, this time we have to be the storm. Get the puck deep and be on the attack from the get-go.

Play Hard and Physical but Stay Out Of The Box - Detroit has to keep their emotions in check. Play with an edge, compete hard, and keep the elbows and sticks down. Force them to cause turnovers and generate offense from it.

The Presidents' Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks staved off elimination Saturday night in Chicago with a 4-1 Game 5 victory, but return  to The Joe with a 3-2 series deficit against a hungry Red Wings team that will look to end it tonight. This postseason, the Wings are 4-0 after a loss and 4-1 at home, so while it may be a small sample size, it's still encouraging to the Detroit faithful.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 8:00 PM on NBC Sports Network, or CBC/RDS for our Canadian viewers, or tune in on 97.1 The Ticket/AM1270.
