Datsyuk
Pavel Datsyuk said he is a game-time decision and that he “feels better every day.”

"We need everybody to make a contribution. Our last game, Emmerton’s line and Andersson’s line were outstanding, and that effort from your third and fourth lines should have won you the game.”
- Mike Babcock

Samuelsson
Mikael Samuelsson will return to the lineup tonight.

“I’m ready to go… I wouldn’t be playing if I weren’t 100 percent…. I’m looking forward to coming back tonight.”
– Mikael Samuelsson

Huskins

Kent Huskins will play tonight.

“It's great. Guys who've been in there have been doing a great job. Now it's my job to get back in and contribute.”
- Kent Huskins on being in tonight’s lineup

“I know what (Kent) is going to do: he gives me an extra penalty killer and takes some minutes away from Kronwall.”
- Mike Babcock

Jakub Kindl will be a healthy scratch.

“(Kindl) moves the puck real good, and yet was involved in too many plays going in the wrong direction. But he really moves the puck. We have to tighten up tonight.”
- Mike Babcock

Darren Helm said all tests on his back have come back negative.

"Seen a couple of doctors. They believe it will get better. It's just a matter of time. They don't really know when. They said it's going to be good. I just have to stay happy and be positive about that.”
- Darren Helm

"I have been feeling better the last few days, looking at next week maybe doing some more physical activity and see where that takes us. Just wait and see is all they can do.”

Limit Turnovers
- Turnovers hurt the team in their last game, especially in the third period. The Wings need to take better care of the puck tonight.

Play Better in Front of our Goalie - That means clearing rebounds and not allowing the opposition to get multiple scoring chances.

Compete Hard for 60 Minutes - Win the one-on-one battles, especially in the corners, and play with an edge.

The Wings jumped off to a hot start, getting off to a 2-1 lead midway through the second period, but a few bad bounces and a costly turnover in the neutral zone lead to the Ducks scoring three straight. An empty net goal by Andrew Cogliano put the game on ice to wrap up a 5-2 win for Anaheim.

Thanks for tuning in to our Game Day Blog...We'll see you on
Sunday when we head to Minnesota to take on the Wild!
