Penalty Kill Must be Better
- The Flames have at least one PPG in 5 of their 6 games and Detroit's given up a PPG in 6 games this year. They have to block shots, be smart, and clear the puck early and often.

Total Team Defensive Effort - With blueliner Brendan Smith out, the Wings will need some help on the back end from the new defensemen in tonight's lineup and from the forwards.

Generate More Offense - Even though he's struggled so far, Kiprusoff is a good goalie. The Wings need to get a lot of shots on net, screen the goalie, and work to create opportunities to score.

The Detroit Red Wings dropped the second game of a back-to-back in Columbus tonight, 4-2. To add insult to injury, Brendan Smith left the game in the first period with an upper-body injury. The Red Wings have a couple days to re-group and get healthy before they get back at it on Tuesday against Calgary.

Thanks for tuning in to our Game Day Blog...we'll see you February 5th when we take on the Flames at The Joe!
