Niklas Kronwall
scored the lone goal for the Red Wings as they fell 4-1 against the Maple Leafs Saturday night. Kronwall's blast put the Red Wings up 1-0 on the power-play, continuing their success with the man-advantage (22.5%). Kronner has been steady on the back end for Detroit all season leading the way with 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists).

Get the legs going early - Red Wings looked out of gas vs Toronto. They've played a lot of hockey. Now they've had 2 days to recharge their batteries and get ready for the Blue Jackets.

Stay out of the box - Detroit has taken too many penalties lately. Good thing their penalty killers have done a great job. Columbus is 5 for their last 16 with the man advantage in their last 4 games.

Win goaltending battle - Sergei Bobrovsky has been very good during the Blue Jackets 6 game win streak. Howard needs to outplay Bobrovsky.

Brett Lebda scored midway through the third period Saturday to give the Red Wings a 2-1 victory over the Devils that ended a lot of pent-up frustration.

"What a great win, coming back from behind," said Detroit goalie Dominik Hasek, who made 21 saves. "We talked about not having won here before the game. This was one of the most exciting wins of the year."

Pavel Datsyuk
also scored as Detroit won here for the first time since Nov. 20, 1993, a span of nine games that included two loses in the 1995 Stanley Cup.

The Red Wings return to the Motor City tonight as they gear up for their matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Detroit will aim to end two streaks tonight, their three-game winless streak, as well as Columbus's six-game win streak. Detroit's 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last Saturday may have ceded two important points to a division rival, but as the Red Wings prepare to open a four-game home-stand, help may be on the way. Justin Abdelkader and defenseman Danny DeKeyser could be back in the lineup, and forwards Tomas Tatar and Johan Franzen should be on the ice despite missing practice Monday because of illness.

The last time these two squads met, Jimmy Howard was perfect and the Red Wings offense lit up Columbus, netting five goals. “They’ve got a good team,” Babcock said. “They were really injured. It should be a good game. A lot of fun. We need a bounce back game ourselves. Our energy level should be back.” Detroit will have to play well for sixty minutes as Jackets goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, has compiled a .943 save percentage and a 1.91 goals-against average over their six-game win streak.
