Justin Abdelkader scored in overtime to give Detroit a 2-1 win against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. It was his 20th goal of the season, doubling his previous career high. Forward Erik Cole has three goals in the past five games after being held without one in his first five with the Red Wings following a trade from the Dallas Stars on March 1st. Detroit will look to build off of Sunday's victory, after having lost four of their past six, and now only hold a four point advantage over the surging Ottawa Senators for third place in the Atlantic Division. Tonight's effort will likely will be without center Pavel Datsyuk for a fourth straight game due to a lower body injury. Datsyuk skated at practice at Joe Louis Arena on Monday, but said there is only a small chance he will play. "Feeling better," Datsyuk said. "But not like 100 percent. We're looking at the bigger picture." Jimmy Howard is expected to get the nod in goal tonight, as the Red Wings will look to complete the season sweep against the Arizona Coyotes.

Tomas Tatar is starting to heat up after going 8 games without scoring a goal. Last game, Tats netted his team leading 26th goal of the season in a 3-1 loss to Tampa. The Red Wings will need Tomas Tatar firing on all cylinders this afternoon if they want to end up back in the 'W' column against the St. Louis Blues.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Start On Time - Early games, especially ones that start at noon, are tough on players. The team that gets out of the starting gate the quickest will have the advantage.

Score - Detroit has two goals in their last two games. They need to find a way to turn on the red light on a more consistent basis. When there is a grade-A scoring chance, bury the puck.

Control the Puck - The best defense is to have the puck more than your opponent. Win faceoffs, win battles, get rebounds and convert on scoring chances.
