Comerica Bank Game Day Preview - Boston
Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings

|
|
|
POSTED ON Wednesday, 10.15.2014 / 1:00 PM

Rely on team speed - Play fast move the puck. Boston relies on their strength and physical play. Speed will take that away.

Bear down on scoring chances - The Bruins don't give you a lot, so the need to convert is paramount.

Play as a five-man unit - Support the puck attack and play together.

The Red Wings suffered a heartbreaking loss against Anaheim in the final minute of regulation on Saturday night, but aim to go up 2-1 on the season as they face the Boston Bruins tonight for the second time in the past week. Jimmy Howard played sensational against the Bruins on October 9, and looks to improve upon his already impressive numbers. Howard stopped 16 shots and led the Red Wings to a 2-1 victory that evening. The Red Wings hope to add to the Bruins early season woes, coming out of the gate with a 1-3 record.

"They'll come out flying," Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall said.

The Bruins may be in need of a victory, but the Red Wings have more than just good play on their side; since moving to the Eastern Conference, Detroit has won four straight regular-season games against the Bruins -- tonight, they'll look to make it five.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.
