Contain Giroux and Simmonds - These two have 16 points between them and they play on the top line. Detroit will need to keep that line in check tonight.

Pressure defense - Philly's "D" is prone to cough up the puck when pressure is applied. The Flyers have allowed 28 goals, which is third-worst in the league.

Win special teams battle - Both Detroit and Philly don't take penalties often. The Wings power play needs to get going and the penalty kill needs to remain strong.

The Red Wings aim to put an end to their troubles in the City of Brotherly Love, where they haven't won a game since 1997, the year in which Detroit topped the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Final. Coach Mike Babcock said on Friday that the Wings haven't won since "Christ was a kid," so they'll look to change that tonight.

Backup goalie Jonas Gustavsson will make his second start of the season Saturday. Monster stopped all 30 shots in a 1-0 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 18. "It's going to be a new challenge," Gustavsson said Friday. "I put that [first win] behind me and I'm going to go out there and do my best. … It's always good to get the games in; that's when you learn, gain experience. You try to take advantage of the practices, too." Tonight, Monster will look to keep the ball rolling on his hot start at Wells Fargo Center.

The Red Wings trailed by two goals with less than three minutes to go, but a beautiful wrister from Henrik Zetterberg and a late snipe from Niklas Kronwall forced overtime. Nearing the end of the sudden death frame, Justin Abdelkader picked the corner and won a thriller for Detroit, 4-3!
