Don't look now, but Tomas Tatar is heating up! Tats scored the game winner Saturday afternoon against the Predators and has put up 4 points in the past 5 games. (1 goal, 3 assists) With the addition of skilled forward Tomas Jurco to Tatar and Datsyuk's line, look for Tatar's number to be on the score sheet tonight against the Rangers.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Shut down the Ranger offense - This is a tall order. New York is averaging 3.9 goals per game in their last 11 contests. Rick Nash has 38 goals this season. Take away their time and space.

Be hard on their "D" - Play in the Rangers end as much as possible. Make their defensemen work, apply pressure, and win the battles in the corners.

Win the goaltending battle - Rangers will get scoring chances. Howard needs to be razor sharp.

For the first time in two weeks, the Red Wings will play at Joe Louis Arena. After going 4-1-1 on their most recent road trip, the 'new look' Red Wings will look to keep things going tonight as they are set to take on the New York Rangers. Defenseman Marek Zidlicky and forward Erik Cole, acquired by Detroit prior to the NHL Trade Deadline on Monday, practiced Tuesday. Cole was on a line with Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader, and Zidlicky was paired with Brendan Smith. "I'm excited about the guys; as long as they're competitive everything will work out fine," coach Mike Babcock said. The Red Wings could get captain Henrik Zetterberg back in the line up tonight, after he missed four games due to a head injury. Jimmy Howard will get the start in goal.
