Pavel Datsyuk has been doing his thing the past six games, netting seven points (2 goals, 5 assists). The Magic Man capped off another three-point night on Saturday and will look to keep his hot stretch going tonight as the Atlantic Division's top team, Montreal visits The Joe.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Shoot the puck - The Price (Carey Price) has been right! He's won 17 of his last 21 starts and has allowed one goal in each of his last 3 games. The Wings need to get traffic in front of him and get their shots through.

Limit turnovers - Detroit needs to be better in this area. Protect the puck and don't give up any gifts.

Start fast - Getting the lead will be critical, seeing how the Canadiens don't give up many goals. They don't score many either. It's imperative to play with a lead and force them to play catch up hockey.

The Red Wings will wrap up the second of a two-game home stand tonight as the Montreal Canadiens visit the Motor City. Detroit is coming off a shootout loss that came on Saturday night against the Jets in Jimmy Howard's first game back since missing 11 games due to a groin injury. Detroit's biggest concern is the number of goals allowed, eight in the past two games, and Coach Babcock thinks it was more of the Red Wings play rather than goaltending. Tonight's match up will be the third of the season between these top Atlantic Division rivals, Montreal getting the better of Detroit each time. Jimmy Howard will get his second straight start in goal tonight.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch today's 7:30 PM matchup on Fox Sports Detroit, or listen  in with Ken Kal and Paul Woods on 97.1 The Ticket.
