Riley Sheahan has been hot as of late, scoring goals in back-to-back games, including a game-tying goal in Pittsburgh that gave Detroit a critical point and clinched a playoff spot for the 23rd straight season.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Work on the Details - This game doesn't mean anything in the standings for Detroit. They need to use this as a final prep for the playoffs.

Get Better as a Team - Play with structure and match the Blues' Intensity.

Play Hard, but Be Safe and Smart - Detroit needs to be ready for Game 1. Have a good game, but be conscious of the fact that you need to go into the playoffs healthy.

Detroit's main goal is heading into its 23rd straight playoff appearance on a high note. It won't be easy because the Blues have ample motivation.

"It's always a tough matchup for us every time we play them, regardless of who's in and who's not for each team," Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall said, according to MLive.com. "It's always a very tight game, pretty physical and of course they want to be feeling good going into the playoffs as well."

Forward Daniel Alfredsson (sore back) will not play Sunday, but he'll be ready for Detroit's first-round series against the Boston Bruins. Joakim Anderssonwill play in Alfredsson's spot at right wing on the third line. Center David Legwand didn't practice Saturday but is expected to play Sunday.

Today, we'll look to end the season on a high note against St. Louis.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.
