Tomas Tatar is on an absolute tear right now! Tats has scored in four consecutive games, earning him the NHL's Second Star of the Week accolade for the second time this season. Tatar has racked up 5 goals and 3 assists in the past five games, bringing his season totals to a team leading 21 goals, and 13 assists.

Balanced offensive attack - All four lines have been contributing during the 4 game win streak. That needs to continue.

Rebound in goal - All goalies have rough games. Petr Mrazek needs to forget about last game and rebound with a solid effort tonight.

Play 3 solid periods - Detroit got away with 40 minutes of good hockey and won, but that doesn't happen often in the NHL. Need a solid effort for an entire game tonight.

Detroit has won four games in a row and six of its past seven following a 6-4 win against the Buffalo Sabres Sunday, in a game where Tom McCullom recorded his first career victory. “Took a lot of different exits, about 17 different detours and I think it went the wrong way 10 times too,” McCollum said. “Fortunately I found my way on the right path and the team played fantastic in front of me, which really made it a lot easier.” The Red Wings have scored 17 goals during their winning streak, led by Henrik Zetterberg, who had a hat trick against the Sabres and leads Detroit with 41 points this season.

Tonight, Detroit will face a struggling Minnesota team that is (3-6-1) in their last 10 games following a 3-1 loss last night against the Blue Jackets. The Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings each won on home ice last season. The Red Wings won 4-3 at Joe Louis Arena on Mar. 23. Detroit forward Gustav Nyquist had three goals in the two games. The Wild are 4-3-0 in their past seven games in Detroit. Petr Mrazek is expected to be back between the pipes tonight for the Red Wings.
