Anaheim Ducks vs. Detroit Red Wings
Justin Abdelkader will make his return to the lineup tonight after serving his two-game suspension. |
“I’m excited for the opportunity. Hopefully I can come in and inject some energy into the lineup and help us get a win.” |
Mike Babcock said Patrick Eaves will be scratched tonight. |

Carlo Colaiacovo will make his first playoff appearance as a Red Wing tonight. |

Brian Lashoff will be a healthy scratch. |
Toni Lydman will be out again for the Ducks with an upper-body injury. |

Put the Pedal to the Metal - The Joe will be rocking and it will be noisy. Take charge early. Go after the Ducks hard from puck drop.
Shoot the Puck - Make Jonas Hiller work. Get shots to the net. Second and third chances are key; the Wings also need to have a solid net front presence.
Put it All on the Line - This is a must win situation. Detroit needs a full 60 minute effort. Every shift counts.![]() |

Despite a crushing 3-2 OT loss on Wednesday that put the Wings on the brink of elimination, the banged up boys in red feel confident going into tonight's must-win Game 6.
"There should be no panic whatsoever in our room," goaltender Jimmy Howard told the media on Thursday. "We've been in this situation before and gotten through. We've just got to go into this game with the same mental attitude that we had the last week and good things will happen for us."
Tonight, Detroit will gladly welcome Justin Abdelkader and his physical presence back into the lineup after serving his two-game suspension. While the team is obviously better with Abby in it, they'll no doubt need to compete the full sixty minutes in effort to send this series back to Anaheim for a Game 7.
