Tomas Tatar has been red hot lately, scoring highlight-reel goals in back-to-back games. In his first season with the big club, Tats has made a strong impression on the Red Wings brass, and is currently fourth on the team in scoring with nine goals.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Be Ready to Grind it out - The Kings play a physical brand of hockey. The Red Wings need to be ready to battle especially in the corners.

Need to Score - Get pucks to the net and make the most of all opportunities. LA doesn't give you much so when there's a chance to score...bury it.

Need Solid Goalkeeping - Jimmy Howard has to bounce back after a tough game in San Jose. Detroit needs him to make timely big saves.

Detroit is clinging to a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs while trying to tread water through a spate of injuries that never seems to end.

Detroit comes to L.A. off a 4-1 road loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, a game in which the Red Wings got back rookie defenseman Danny DeKeyser from a groin injury but didn't have top center Pavel Datsyuk (lower body). They're also missing four regulars who are on injured reserve.

One guy they've recently gotten back from injury is starting goalie Jimmy Howard, who's been up-and-down in four games since his return. Tonight, he and a depleted Detroit team will look to bounce back in Los Angeles.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch tonight's 10:30 PM matchup on Fox Sports Detroit, or listen in with Ken Kal and Paul Woods on AM 950.
