Pavel Datsyuk is heating up, as he was able to find the back of the net for the Red Wings last Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche. Datsyuk's power-play goal broke the 0-0 tie, brining his season totals to (13 goals, 11 assists). Look for Datsyuk to stay 'hot' tonight playing along side his buddies Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader when we take on Buffalo.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing" by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Need to finish - The opportunities to score are there. Need to find a way to put the biscuit in the basket!

Tighten up - Take away the Sabres time and space. Don't allow them to generate speed.

Possess the puck - It all starts by winning the face off battle. Spend more time in their end. Control the puck.

The Buffalo Sabres will visit the Motor City tonight for the final game of the Red Wings' home stand. Detroit is in desperate need of a win after dropping their previous six, three of which were in a shootout. Jimmy Howard skated briefly Monday morning but his status is still unknown for Tuesday night's tilt. "There's a chance, but I don't know. I'll probably have to talk a little bit more to the training staff to see what's best for myself and for the team. It's responded every single day with treatments. It felt good out there on the ice today, so hopefully tomorrow, another good work day, and you never know." said Howard. Petr Mrazek will be expected to start if Jimmy can't go.

The Red Wings will hope to have Stephen Weiss back in the line up as he has taken part in practice the past few days after missing time with a shoulder injury. "I'm ready to play, we'll see if coach puts me in, but yeah I'mm ready to go."  Said Weiss after Monday's skate. "Obviously, you don't want to miss this many games but thats the way it goes sometimes with injuries. It was tough to watch these last few games at home and I'm really looking forward to hopefully getting one in before the break."
