Buffalo Wild Wings Hot Wings

Darren Helm is heating up! Helmer has scored three goals in the past two games for the Red Wings including the game-winner in last nights 3-2 victory over the Rangers. With Helm's speed, a lot of scoring chances will present themselves, especially playing along side Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Tatar.

He's Detroit's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Be ready to play - Quick turnaround for the Red Wings after arriving late last night. Carolina didn't play yesterday and will be fresh. Detroit needs to focus and stay mentally tough.

Be on the attack - Carry the play to the Hurricanes. Get traffic in front of the net and compete hard.

Win special teams battle - The penalty killers were fabulous last night. Keep up the great work. On the other side, connect on the power play when given the opportunity.

The Red Wings are coming off another impressive outing as they defeated the New York Rangers 3-2. Detroit concluded their four-game homestand with a 3-1 record and will be on he road tonight as they take on the Hurricanes. This will be the first match up between the two teams, but last season Detroit took two of three from the Canes. Look for Henrik Zetterberg to have a big game, as he had five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in his two games against the Hurricanes last year.

Jimmy Howard played great last night, stopping 32 pucks and will likely get a break tonight on the ladder half of the back-to-back, making room for Petr Mrazek's third start between the pipes this season. The Red Wings are 8-2 in their past 10 games.

Welcome to the Detroit Red Wings Game Day Blog, where you can get behind-the-scenes information, thoughts from players and staff, and up-to-date news on anything and everything Red Wings on game day.

You can watch today's 5:00 PM matchup on Fox Sports Detroit Plus, or listen in with Ken Kal and Paul Woods on radio 1270 AM.
