Stephen Weiss had his first three-point game (1 goal, 2 assists) as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, and first since February 26th, 2012 on Thursday night as Detroit defeated Dallas 5-2. Weiss' come-back has really set fire to the Red Wings offense, recording 27 goals in six games as a team. Weiss now has 4 goals and 5 assists in his seven games played.

He's today's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Create traffic in front of the net - Get shots to the net, get second and third opportunities to score, and get to the dirty areas in front of Talbot to score goals.

Power up - The power play has been terrific as of late, and it's pic off. The Wings have to take advantage of their chances with the extra man on the ice. Detroit has scored a power-play goal in each of their last six games, so let's try to make that seven.

Dictate the play - Win the faceoff battles, possess the puck, and be on the attack for the entire night.

The Red Wings defeat the Devils 3-1. Johan Franzen and Tomas Tatar scored in the third period to snap a 1-1 tie, and Jonas Gustavsson needed 10 saves to give the Red Wings their fifth win in six games. The Devils were held to their lowest shot total of the season (11), tying a franchise record for fewest in a game.

The Red Wings are coming off a convincing 5-2 victory against the Stars on Thursday. Tonight will be the finale of a four-game homestand when the Rangers visit the Motor City. The last time these two teams met up, New York defeated the Red Wings in overtime, 4-3 at MSG. The Red Wings are poised to settle the score, after Tomas Tatar sent their last meeting into overtime with 7.7 seconds left in regulation.

Since November 5th, the Red Wings power play has been red hot.  In the past 14 games Detroit's power play is 19 for 58 (32.8%), with power-play goals in 12 of those games; the Red Wings have at least two power-play goals in a game seven times. "Huge for us get a good balance of scoring," forward Stephen Weiss  said, "Thirty teams would love to take that, power play got another one. All four lines were good. We did a real good job getting back where we want to be." Detroit is 2-1-0 on its homestand and 7-2-0 in its past nine games.
