The Red Wings and Lighting begin their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series tonight at Amalie Arena. The Lightning won three of four against the Red Wings this season. The Red Wings, however won the most recent match-up between the two clubs in 4-0, 28 save effort with Petr Mrazek in net.

Both Ben Bishop and Petr Mrazek will get their first taste of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. "Stay focused, stay positive, and be strong in the crease," Mrazek said about his mentality going into Game 1.  Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg were reunited as linemates Wednesday, skating with Darren Helm. Justin Abdelkader, who hasn't played since sustaining a hand injury in an April 4 game, skated in a non-contact jersey and did not have a line. He is questionable. Coach Mike Babcock said he would play Datsyuk and Zetterberg together unless Abdelkader is able to return.

The Red Wings went 7-10-3 over their final 20 games of the regular season. "When we had things going during the West Coast trips, we played the game we wanted," Niklas Kronwall said. "We got to get back to doing that every game."

Start fast - Try to establish an early lead and take the crowd out of the game.

Play with tempo - Carolina has a fast style of play, so it's important to match their intensity.

Know the situation - The Red Wings are in the playoffs, and health going in is the most important thing. Stay healthy, fine tune the details, and play organized.
