Justin Abdelkader
has really reaped the benefits of playing the first line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Abby recorded 5 shots on net in last nights matchup against the Senators and has put up 5 points in the past 4 games. (2 goals, 3 assists)

He's today's 'Hot Wing' by Buffalo Wild Wings!

Get into their D - The Rangers are missing four of their top-six defensemen. The Wings need to take advantage of this makeshift blue line corps.

Start on time - Last night, Detroit didn't start on time, and while it was a scoreless game after one period, slow starts take a toll on your players. Be ready to play here tonight from puck drop.

Put the puck on net - Detroit missed some opportunities last night on good looks. They'll need to get their shots on goal to get past King Henrik.

This is the first of three games between the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers. The next two will be played at Joe Louis Arena. The Rangers swept the three-game set with Detroit last season and shut out the Red Wings twice.

Detroit dropped a 3-1 decision at the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. The Red Wings were outshot 16-2 in the first period but picked up their game over the final 40 minutes and tied it early in the third period on a goal by Henrik Zetterberg. But the Senators' Patrick Wiercioch scored with 5:23 remaining to put Ottawa ahead to stay.

"We didn't spend any time in their end. They were just in our end. Eventually it gets tiring, when you see that," Zetterberg said. "They were really wearing on our D in the first period and that showed in the third."

Nonetheless, the Red Wings are poised to bounce back tonight looking to avoid a winless road trip with Gustavsson in net, who is 1-1-0 with a 1.45 GAA and .935 save percentage in two starts this season.
