In addition to 16 points in 16 games this season, Pavel Datsyuk also has been dominant against Dallas in his career, with 40 points in 37 career games versus the Stars, including a 3 assist effort the last time these two teams met.

He's today's 'Hot Wing' by

Tighten Up Defensively - Way too many shots came Jimmy Howard's way in Winnipeg, and the Wings allowed too many quality scoring chances. Detroit has to buckle down tonight.

Have a Strong Power Play - Maintain sustained pressure in the offensive zone, get shots through to the goalie, and generate multiple scoring chances.

Be Disciplined - It seems like the Wings have been taking more minor penalties than their opponents of late; the best way to stay out of box is to control the play and force Dallas to take penalties.

After a six point road trip in Canada, the Red Wings return home from a four-game swing to face the Stars.

Detroit came within one game of a perfect 4-0 road trip, but instead of getting an impressive sweep through western Canada, the Red Wings looked tired playing their third game in four nights and were doubled up, 4-2, by the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. The loss came despite a superb outing by goalie Jimmy Howard, who made 43 saves on 47 shots. They'll look to bounce back tonight.

The Red Wings are still tied for first place in the Atlantic Division, a notable feat considering they have a negative overall goal differential this season. Now that Detroit's road trip is over the team will get to stay put for a while. The Wings play seven of their next eight games at Joe Louis Arena.
