Michigan First Credit Union Morning Skate Update

Niklas Kronwall took a puck to the mouth this morning; he's off to see the dentist right now.

Kronwall is a game-time decision because of maxillofacial damage, but said he hopes to play.

Xavier Ouellet was recalled from Grand Rapids as a precaution; he'll go if Kronner can't.

Darren Helm participated in some drills with the team, but not all.

Helm's groin ultrasound showed fluid, but no tear. He's out Saturday, but hopes to return on the Western Canada trip.

Daniel Alfredsson will face the Ottawa Senators for the first time in his career tonight.

“Obviously I’ve got a lot of good friends on the other side. I think it will be a relief once the puck drops. There will be a lot of emotion going into the game...But it’s a bit exciting too.” -Daniel Alfredsson

Tonight, Alfie is expected to skate on the Wings’ second line alongside Todd Bertuzzi and Johan Franzen.
