DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that goaltender Tom McCollum has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. McCollum returns to Detroit for the second time this season after previously serving as Jimmy Howard’s backup for seven games from Jan. 21 through Feb. 2.
