DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings® today announced that tickets for the 2013 Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings Alumni Showdown™ on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Comerica Park will go on sale Monday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. The event marks the final day of the 2013 SiriusXM Hockeytown Winter Festival™ in Detroit, leading up to the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® between Detroit and Toronto on New Year’s Day at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. Each ticket is good for both games of the New Year’s Eve doubleheader (1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.) and provides free access to the Coke Zero Fan Zone in the parking lots just outside Comerica Park. A highlight of the event will be a celebration of the players’ storied histories with the two clubs, including individual player introductions and a special video displayed on Comerica Park’s giant left field scoreboard.
“December 31 will be a walk down memory lane for players and fans,” said Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland. “We will have most of the great Red Wings and Maple Leafs of the last 40 years on the same ice for the first time in history. There was so much interest in playing that we had to schedule two alumni games. This will be a very special day remembering and honoring the history of two great franchises.”
The Red Wings’ roster alone boasts 12 players and coaches who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and 29 who won a Stanley Cup® Championship during their stay in Detroit. Trophies won by the participants include the Norris Trophy (eight times), Art Ross Trophy (seven times), Hart Trophy (six times), Lady Byng Trophy (three times), William M. Jennings Trophy (three times), Jack Adams Award (three times), Conn Smythe Trophy (twice) and Frank J. Selke Trophy (once), in addition to 53 appearances on the NHL’s First and Second All-Star Teams.

The Coke Zero Fan Zone is an outdoor fan festival celebrating hockey, the Red Wings and the storied rivalry between the two Original Six™ franchises.
