Center sits 4th on Grand Rapids with 29 points in 31 games

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned center Cory Emmerton to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of St. Thomas, Ontario, Emmerton has skated in 11 games with the Red Wings this season, notching two assists, four penalty minutes and 16 shots on goal. In 132 games with the team since 2010-11, the sixth-year pro has 21 points (12-9-21) and 22 penalty minutes. Emmerton has also skated in 31 games with Grand Rapids this season, registering 29 points (10-19-29) and 12 penalty minutes. The 25-year-old forward has tallied 140 points (44-96-140) and 78 penalty minutes in 248 career games with Grand Rapids.
