QMJHL Second All-Star Team (1980) Signed as a free agent by Quebec, October 10, 1980. Traded to Detroit by Quebec for cash, February 29, 1984. Played 5 games for Asbestos Azteques (QSPHL) in 1997-98 with totals of 0 goals, 5 assists and 10 penalty minutes.
Aubry could score at will at the lower levels and had trouble making the grade in the NHL. He scored 138 goals in 139 games in his final two years of junior with Trois-Rivieres and in the Eastern league had 66 more in 71 games with the Erie Blades.

These were eye-popping numbers the NHL couldn't ignore, but when the undrafted Aubry joined the Quebec Nordiques he could give them only 18 goals in four partial seasons. Although he played most of 1981-83, he managed only 17 goals, and on February 29, 1984 he was sold to Detroit outright.

With the Wings, his numbers tailed off even more, and over the next couple of seasons he played part of the year with the farm team in Adirondack and part in France and Italy. He played full-time in Europe for the next four years before returning to his native Quebec to pursue a career as coach. Since 1991 he has remained in the game in that capacity.
