Wings sign Tardif to 2-year entry-level deal
23-year-old forward spent 2007-08 in AHL with Grand Rapids

DETROIT -- The Red Wings announced today that they have signed forward Jamie Tardif to a two-year entry-level contract. In keeping with team policy, additional terms of the contract were not announced.
Tardif (6-foot, 203-pounds) was originally drafted by Calgary in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2003 entry draft. He played in all 80 games this season for the Red Wings’ American Hockey League affiliate in Grand Rapids.
He scored 17 goals and added 17 assists to finish sixth on the Griffins with 34 points, and was third on the team with 90 penalty minutes. In 2005-06, he captained Peterborough to an OHL championship.
