By Lisa Hickok  - Media Relations Coordinator
-- Red Wings Executive Vice President/General Manager Ken Holland announced the team has re-signed assistant coach Paul MacLean to a three-year contract. The team also signed Brad McCrimmon as assistant coach on a three-year contract and Keith McKittrick as video coach on a two-year contract. In keeping with club policy, additional terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

MacLean enters his fourth season as assistant coach with the Red Wings. A defending Stanley Cup champion, MacLean will continue to assist coach Mike Babcock and the newly appointed coaching staff. MacLean and Babcock have coached together since their first season in the NHL where they spent two seasons (2002-04) with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

A native of Nova Scotia, MacLean and his wife have three children.

McCrimmon joins the Wings' organization having spent the last four seasons as assistant coach with the Atlanta Thrashers. He has served as assistant coach for the Calgary Flames and the New York Islanders, and head coach for the Western Hockey League’s Saskatoon Blades. McCrimmon also helped lead Team Canada to a gold metal as assistant coach at the 2003 World Under-18 Championships.

He has over 25 years of NHL experience, including 18 seasons as an NHL defenseman, playing for Detroit from 1990-93. A native of Plenty, Saskatchewan, McCrimmon is married and has two children.

McKittrick comes to Detroit having served as assistant to the head coach/video coordinator for the Michigan State men’s hockey team for three seasons. Prior to working at MSU, McKittrick worked as an assistant to the video coach with the Minnesota Wild. He has acquired international experience as part of the coaching staff from the 2006 Three Nations Tournament and as Video Coordinator for Team USA at the 2007 World Junior Championships.
