| Kirk Maltby was among the Wings' bell ringers during the Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign last year. |
On Tuesday, December 11, vice president and general manager Ken Holland, coach Mike Babcock and five players will serve as red kettle bell ringers in a variety of locations throughout Metro Detroit.
For the second consecutive year, Holland will serve as the honorary Red Kettle campaign chairman. Last year’s campaign in Metro Detroit raised over $7.1 Million. This year’s goal is $7.2 million.
"I’m honored to be involved with the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign again this year,” Holland said. “There is a tremendous need for their services in our area and I know our fans will generously support our efforts to help those who need it the most.”
The team will also host the red kettles at home games on Thursday, Dec. 13 (vs. Edmonton); Saturday, Dec. 15 (vs. Florida) and Monday, Dec. 17 (vs. Washington).
Fans attending these games will have the opportunity to make a monetary donation at red kettles stationed throughout the Joe Louis Arena concourse.
