Signing benefits local childhood cancer patients
DETROIT -- On October 25, 2005, head coach Mike Babcock met some of Hockeytown's fans at an autograph signing at Hockeytown Cafe to benefit the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation (JTHF). Babcock graciously donated time to collect books, movies and games as part of his ongoing partnership with the Foundation which was formed in honor of a former neighbor of the Babcock family.

The mission of the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation is to increase awareness about pediatric brain tumors and provide education and support to affected families. In addition, the foundation raises money to fund worthy causes such as academic scholarships and research.

It also assists other support organizations with their efforts, with a focus on finding a balance between the best available treatments, and the best quality of life. For more information on the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation, visit them on the web at
