DETROIT -- The No. 7 Tigers of Colorado College defeated the Michigan State Spartans 6-3 Friday night at Joe Louis Arena to become champions of the 41st Annual Great Lakes Invitational.
The Tigers outscored the No. 6 University of Michigan
Wolverines 6-1 Thursday evening to advance to the GLI Championship Game. The Spartans defeated the tournament-host Huskies of Michigan Technological University 3-2 Thursday to earn their spot in the final. The Wolverines outlasted the Huskies 4-3 Friday to take third place in the tournament.

Tickets for 2006 "College Hockey at the Joe" Events on Sale Now The exciting 2005-2006 season of "College Hockey at the Joe" continues at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 28 when intrastate rivals Michigan and Michigan State clash at Joe Louis Arena. The Spartans return to the Joe at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 to face another intrastate rival in the Lakers of Lake Superior State University. The "College Hockey at the Joe" season concludes March 17 and 18 with the 25th Annual Central Collegiate Hockey Association Championship.
Tickets for all "College Hockey at the Joe" events are priced at $30, $24, $22, $15 and $10 per day and are available at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster ticket centers, including Hockeytown Cafe in Detroit and Hockeytown Authentics in Troy.
