Hasek among players of the week
NEW YORK -- Atlanta Thrashers left wing Vyacheslav Kozlov, Calgary Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff and Red Wings goaltender Dominik Hasek have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Nov. 12.

Each Monday, the NHL will recognize three players who delivered the League's top performances over the preceding week.

FIRST STAR -- VYACHESLAV KOZLOV, LW, ATLANTA THRASHERS Kozlov led all NHL scorers with 11 points (five goals, six assists) in four games, figuring in 73 percent of the Thrashers' 15 goals. He posted his second four-point game of the season (one goal, three assists) in a 5-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Nov. 6, and notched his first hat trick of the campaign and fifth of his NHL career in a 5-4 comeback win over the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 8. He tallied a goal for the third consecutive game in a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Nov. 10, and finished the week with three assists in a 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 11. Playing in his 15th NHL season and fourth with the Thrashers, Kozlov ranks third in NHL scoring with 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 20 games.

SECOND STAR -- MIIKKA KIPRUSOFF, G, CALGARY FLAMES Kiprusoff backstopped the Flames to three consecutive victories, posting a 1.00 goals-against average and .967 save percentage. He made 25 saves in a 3-1 home-ice victory over the Dallas Stars on Nov. 7, blocked 37 shots in a 3-0 victory over Anaheim on Nov. 10 -- the Ducks' first regulation loss of the season -- and closed the week by making 26 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 11. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner as the League's top goaltender has started in 15 of Calgary's 16 games this season, posting a 7-7-1 record, 2.39 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

THIRD STAR -- DOMINIK HASEK, G, DETROIT RED WINGS Hasek recorded a shutout in each of his two appearances as the Wings (11-4-1) extended their winning streak to eight games and moved into first place in the Central Division. Hasek made 16 saves in a 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 8, and turned aside 21 shots in a 3-0 victory over Nashville on Nov. 10, snapping the Predators' streak of points in 10 consecutive games (9-0-1). The consecutive shutouts increased Hasek's season total to three, tied for the League lead with New Jersey's Martin Brodeur, and career total to 71, tied for 11th on the all-time list with former Wings goalie and Hockey Hall of Fame member Harry Lumley.
