Wings grab two big points; beat Hawks
By The Associated Press

Lang's four-point night Friday was his highest-point total since his five-point game on Nov. 26, 2005 against San Jose.

DETROIT -- Robert Lang had a goal and three assists, and Nicklas Lidstrom got his 200th goal and two assists to lead the Red Wings to a 6-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.

Mathieu Schneider, Valtteri Filppula, Jiri Hudler, and Johan Franzen got the other Detroit goals, and Pavel Datsyuk added three assists. Chris Osgood made 18 saves.

Lang had his first multipoint game since Jan. 13. Lidstrom's goal was also the 100th of his career on the power play.

Jason Williams scored both goals for Chicago, which has lost seven of its past eight.

Williams was playing in his first game at Joe Louis Arena since being traded from the Wings to the Blackhawks on Monday. He faced Detroit in Chicago on Tuesday.

Chicago's Patrick Lalime stopped 14 of 18 shots before being pulled 9:13 into the second period. He was replaced by Nikolai Khabibulin.

The Wings led 2-0 after the first period.

Lang's power-play goal opened the scoring 6:15 into the game. His shot from the left circle deflected off the skate of the Blackhawks' Duncan Keith, and off the pads of Lalime for Lang's 15th goal.

Schneider scored his 10th goal, with just three seconds left in the period, on a one-time slap shot from the high slot.

Filppula made it 3-0 off a pass from Datsyuk 7:24 into the second period, and Hudler got his 10th goal, on a breakaway, just 1:49 later after taking a perfect 80-foot pass from Datsyuk.

Williams got Chicago on the board with a short-handed goal with 8:45 remaining in the middle period when he capitalized on a turnover by Schneider.

Lidstrom got his 11th goal of the season on a 5-on-3 power play 40 seconds into the third period.

Williams scored on the power play, for his 13th goal 2:48 into the third period.

Franzen scored with 9:10 left.

GAME NOTES: Detroit C Henrik Zetterberg missed his second game with a sore back. Filppula replaced him on the top line with Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom. ... Wings' forward Dan Cleary missed his third game with an injured knee. ... Chicago LW Rene Bourque missed his second game with the flu.
