FSN Detroit gets 3 EMMYS for coverage
Daniels won his first EMMY this season for his coverage of a game from in-between the team benches.
DETROIT -- Fox Sports Net Detroit is the recipient of five EMMY Awards this year from the Michigan Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The 29th Annual Michigan EMMY Awards, recognizing excellence in television, were presented June 16 in Detroit.

This year's ceremony saw FSN Detroit win in five of 12 nominated categories, totaling 24 overall nominations. FSN Detroit has captured 39 EMMYs since 2000, including 21 over the last three years. This year's FSN winning entries included three for its coverage of the Detroit Red Wings, another for a powerful CCHA feature, and a repeat EMMY for Detroit Tigers analyst Rod Allen, and:

FSN Detroit earns a pair of EMMYs for its "Red Wings Between the Benches" telecast of the December 12, 2006 game between the Red Wings and Ottawa Senators. The unique telecast featured play-by-play announcer Ken Daniels positioned at ice level between both teams' benches, providing a unique perspective on the action.

Reporter Trevor Thompson won for the first time with an episode devoted to the dedication of a Red Wings-themed section at Children's Hospital in Detroit.

FSN also won in the following categories: Sports Program Feature Segment: "The Ultimate Assist" by reporter Shireen Saski), and for On-Camera Talent Reporter ? Sports Analyst: Tigers' analyst Rod Allen.
