DETROIT — Red Wings’ Johan Franzen got the OK from doctors after practice on Monday and coach Mike Babcock said he will play in Game 2 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Franzen has missed the last six games with concussion-like syndromes. He took the morning skate on Monday and stayed on the ice with the black aces for an extended time.
He is currently tied for the playoff goal scoring lead (12) with teammate Henrik Zetterberg.
