DETROIT -- NBC has decided to broadcast a pair of Red Wings' games on back-to-back Sundays in April.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Red Wings return to NBC for the second time since defeating the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-4, in the NHL's second annual Winter Classic, which was played on New Year's Day at historic Wrigley Field.
Detroit's second NBC game occurred on Feb. 8. In that contest, the Red Wings shutout the Penguins, 3-0, at Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena.
The Wings will host the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. EDT. A week later, the Wings will conclude the regular-season at Chicago's United Center at 2 p.m. EDT.
