DETROIT -- Following Monday night's game, Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg pointed out that he was incorrectly credited with an assist on Nicklas Lidstrom's
empty net goal.
The Red Wings confirmed this on video and asked the NHL to look at the play this morning. The league agreed and are making the change, which will give Pavel Datsyuk an assist for his 97th point of the season, tying his career high set last season, and leaving him three shy of the century mark.
Wth three regular-season games remaining, Datsyuk can become the six player in Red Wings' history to score 100-points in a season, joining Gordie Howe, Marcel Dionne, John Ogrodnick, Steve Yzerman and Sergei Fedorov.
Yzerman managed to put together six straight 100-point seasons from 1987-88 to 1992-93. Fedorov is the last to hit the 100-point plateau, compiling 107-points in the 1995-96 campaign.
