DETROIT – Ilitch Charities, the charitable arm of the Ilitch companies, awarded $20,000 in scholarships today to eight student athletes from the Little Caesars AAA hockey program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL).

The students were honored at a ceremony at Hockeytown Cafe in Detroit, which was emceed by Ken Daniels, the Red Wings' television play-by-play announcer on Fox Sports Net.

Ilitch Charities Chairman Christopher Ilitch presented the scholarships to the following honorees:

Stephen Barnett of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

“Little Caesars youth hockey players represent some of the best young hockey talent in the country,” said Ilitch, who is also president and CEO of Ilitch Holdings, Inc. “These young people are not only talented athletes, but outstanding students. Ilitch Charities is pleased to provide college scholarships to help these rising stars attain their educational goals.”
