Wings add premium benefits plan for season ticket holders
Headlining the list of exciting new and expanded features are a new Online Account Manager, new flexible payment plans, a new early payment savings plan, a new rewards program and a new merchandise discount.
“Over the last decade, our team has led the NHL in virtually every possible category including consecutive playoff appearances, Presidents’ Trophies and the highest prize of all – Stanley Cup Championships,” said Holland. “When we compared ourselves to the rest of the league in ticketing, we found that the Red Wings were the only team not to raise ticket prices over the last six seasons and, most surprising, while our team payroll was the highest allowed by the new CBA, our ticket prices ranked 9th in the NHL.
“Listening to the feedback from our long-time season-ticket holders was the driving force in reviewing our benefits package,” continued Holland. “Our fans are a big part of our success and we wanted to listen to, and do more for them. In response, we’ve made it easier to make payments, made a discount available and greatly enhanced our benefits. I’m confident our new packages will be welcomed by our fans.”
In past years, season-ticket holders had the option of making a single full payment or two installments prior to the start of the regular season. This year, the Wings have added an additional payment plan that offers fans the opportunity to spread out their expenses into four separate payments. Best of all, fans will have the opportunity to save 2% off their entire season-ticket package either by paying in full by August 1st (check, cash or Electronic Funds Transfer) or by using an EFT option on any of the three payment plans.
Managing a Red Wings season-ticket account has never been easier with the new Online Account Manager that allows fans to make secure online payments, forward their tickets electronically to clients, friends and family and even re-sell their tickets online at a price set by the season-ticket holder.
Additional new benefits for season-ticket holders will include a 15% merchandise discount on all Red Wings merchandise, including the new Reebok Edge Jersey, at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy and Joe Louis Arena and a special Red Wings Reward Program that will offer season-ticket holders a chance for a trip with the team on RedBird II, trips to Training Camp in Traverse City, suites for Red Wings games at Joe Louis Arena, autographed jerseys and more.

The Red Wings are fresh off the 2006-07 season that saw the team post the highest regular-season point total in the NHL for the third consecutive year and reach the 50-win plateau for the second straight season (the first time ever for the Red Wings and first time in 20 years that any NHL team has accomplished back-to-back 50-win seasons). Detroit advanced to Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 16th straight season, marking the longest playoff streak in all of professional sports (No. 2 are the NY Yankees with 12).
