You've submitted the questions at detroitredwings.com, and now Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall has the answers.
The NHL spells your name Kronvall, with a ‘v’ but on your jersey, its spelled Kronwall, with a ‘w’, why is it both ways?
Wendy McCallum
Port Huron, Michigan
Kronwall: The reason is it’s with a ‘v’ in my passport, but our family has been using the ‘w’ for about four generations now. So at home I have all my bank accounts, credit cards, everything except the passport is with a ‘w’.
Do you ever get to see your brother Staffan Kronwall play in any games?Nanci Guigue
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Kronwall: Well, it’s been a while. Last year I got to watch him a couple of times on TV, but that about it.
What is it like playing with Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Chelios, and what have you learned from them?
Bernie Novabilski
Collegeville, Pennsylvania
Kronwall: What have I not learned from them? It’s not only what you learn on the ice, but a lot of what you learn off the ice as well. On the ice, obviously they’re so poised with the puck. Nick’s been the best defenseman in the league for years and years now, and you learn a lot just being around him, where to put your stick in some positions and when to step up and when to back off. As far as Cheli, he’s a freak of nature. It’s amazing that he can play at the level he’s at, he doing a great job for us. His work ethic on the ice and off the ice, it’s unbelievable.
