You've submitted the questions at detroitredwings.com, and now Red Wings defenseman Brett Lebda has the answers!
Who was your idol growing up?
Lebda: I get this question all the time. It’s weird, but Chelios, growing up in Chicago, and him being the captain there and just being able to grow up and see him compete at the level is pretty amazing. You still go back home and my room is still the same way, it’s got Chelios posters everywhere, so it’s kind of a surreal experience to be playing next to him.
What is your favorite moment so far in the NHL?
Lebda: It’d have to be that first playoff series win. When we beat Calgary, even though I was hurt that game in the stands, just the feeling of accomplishment, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget that feeling.
What kinds of things have you learned from playing with Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Chelios?
Lebda: Everything! You just watch those two guys and the way they conduct themselves and the way they play the game, you learn something new every day. I think I came in very naïve, now looking back at it I was very naïve and didn’t know much. I think I’ve learned a lot of how to be a pro from those two.
