TORONTO – The Hockey Hall of Fame announced that game-worn items from the 2008 Stanley Cup finals, including the cup-winning goal puck, Henrik Zetterberg’s gloves and Nicklas Lidstrom’s skates, are now on display.

“The Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings put on an incredible show in the Stanley Cup finals, so we are especially proud to give visitors to the Hockey Hall of Fame a chance to relive the series through these new acquisitions,” said Phil Pritchard, the hall's curator.
Game-worn items from the 2008 playoffs include:
  • Cup-winning goal puck from Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals scored by Red Wings’ Henrik Zetterberg
  • Game-worn gloves worn by Conn Smythe (playoff MVP) winner Henrik Zetterberg
  • Game-worn Red Wings jersey worn by Kris Draper
  • Game-worn skates worn by Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom
  • Game-worn Red Wings helmet worn by Brian Rafalski
  • Game-worn gloves worn by Pens' Marian Hossa during the conference semifinals, where he scored the overtime winner
The Hockey Hall of Fame also announced the following special activities for summer visitors:

“White Gloves For A Day” contest: Free pairs of white gloves will be distributed at the Hockey Hall of Fame throughout the summer. 600 pairs will be enclosed with a winning ticket for various prizes. One of the lucky winners will win the ultimate prize of living a day in the life of “White Gloves” – the Hockey Hall of Fame individual who chaperones the biggest trophies to exotic locations and celebrity parties. The winner will receive VIP treatment as they slip on the white gloves, take center stage and escort hockey’s treasures to a premiere event.

Tales of the Cup: Every Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m.  until 12:15 p.m., the official keeper of the Stanley Cup will share his incredible behind-the-scenes stories and photos. The Cup keeper will be on hand to sign “Travels with Stanley” books at the end of each presentation.

Hockey Hall of Fame Source for Sports Shoot Out Contest: A competition awarding over $45,000 in cash and prizes. Five qualifying participants will have a chance to shoot for the grand prize of $10,000 at the 2008 Hockey Hall of Fame Source for Sports Legends Classic during Induction Weekend in November.
